I have literally thousands of images. Is ABC Image Browser for me?

The very first version of ABC Image Browser was designed to browse exactly one folder at a time, much like 99% of the other browsers out there. However, since version 2.0, ABC Image Browser has been designed to be used with tens of thousands of images, in any number of folders. Judging by the feedback we have received from our users, we have succeeded in our design goal.

What is the Email Optimization Wizard?

The Email Optimization Wizard prepares your photos to be sent across the web via e-mail. To do this, it checks the size of your image and, if necessary, shrinks it down so that it can be uploaded and downloaded faster. In some cases, the wizard even converts the image to a different, more compact format. If you have ever had to walk away from your computer while you waited for a large photo to download because someone e-mailed it to you full-sized, then this Wizard is for... them. But, if you have ever been on the sending end of such an e-mail, then the Wizard is for you, also.

How do I create a new image folder?

The "Open Image Folder" dialog can be used to create new folders. First open this dialog window by clicking "File|Open Image Folder...", pressing [Ctrl + O], or by clicking the "Open Image Folder" button. Use the file explorer tree on the left to navigate to and select the folder in which you would like to create the new folder. Then click on the small button that has a picture of a folder on it. This is the "Create New Folder" button. Type in the name of the new sub- folder and press [ENTER].

How do I move files from one folder to another?

To move files, you must first open one or more folders. (More than one can be opened at a time.) Select the image file or files that you want to move by clicking on the thumbnails. (Hold the [Ctrl] key to select more than one.) To "cut" these images, right-click on one of the selected thumbnails and click "Cut" or just press [Ctrl + X]. To "copy" these images, right-click a selected thumbnail and click "Copy" or just press [Ctrl + C]. Then move to or open the folder you want the images in. Right-click anywhere within this folder's filmstrip and click "Paste" or just press [Ctrl + V].

You may also move (but not copy) files by using the drag and drop feature. Click and hold the left mouse button on a thumbnail, drag it to a different folder, and drop it by letting go of the mouse button. To switch to a different folder while images are being dragged, simply hover the mouse cursor over the folder's thumbnail tab.
