You may upgrade for free from any previously purchased 4.X version of ABC Image Browser. If you have not previously purchased ABC Image Browser, you may use it for as long as you like, but you will be periodically reminded to buy it. At any time during your trial you may purchase ABC Image Browser by clicking on "Register..." in the "Help" menu within the program and following the instructions. We are no longer using Softwrap as one of our payment partners. System Requirements for ABC Image Browser 4 for Windows The installer creates temporary files during installation so the actual hard disk space required during installation may be greater than the values listed below. The number and size of the images that are open at one time also affect the actual memory and hard disk space requirements. - Processor: Pentium II-class (Pentium III or equivalent recommended) - Operating System: Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Millennium Edition, Windows NT 4, Windows 2000, or Windows XP - RAM (Memory): 128 MB (256 recommended) - Available Hard Disk Space: 15 MB - Recommended Screen Resolution: 1024x768 - Recommended Screen Color Depth: 24-bit (True Color) Installation Instructions Installing and Uninstalling ABC Image Browser 4 for Windows To install ABC Image Browser 4, follow these steps: - You MUST HAVE ADMINISTRATIVE RIGHTS on Win NT, Win 2000, and Win XP systems or the installation process will fail. - Make sure you have at least 25 MB of available disk space for installation of ABC Image Browser 4. The application itself requires less than 7 MB. - Download the latest version of ABC Image Browser from http://j3technologies.net/abc. Be sure to download the file into a directory that you can remember. - Install ABC Image Browser 4. Open the Windows "Start" menu, click "Run...", "browse" to the location of the setup file you downloaded. Select the setup program, click "Open", and click "OK". To uninstall ABC Image Browser 4, follow these steps: - From the Windows "Start" menu, select "Settings", "Control Panel", "Add/Remove Programs" - Select ABC Image Browser 4.0 and press the "Add/Remove..." button Installation Notes The installation process adds "Browse" to the list of actions you may perform on a supported image file through the Windows shell. You may optionally set or unset ABC Image Browser as the default handler for any image that it supports at any time after the installation by clicking on "Options|Preferences" in the main application menu, then clicking the "File Types" tab and checking or un-checking any of the listed file types.
